The officers of the Cordillera Golfers Foundation, Inc. have met with the schools division superintendents of the six provinces and cities in the region to initially discuss the projects to be funded by the foundation.
CGFI officials led by their president Arnel Peil along with Benguet Vice Gov. Ericson Felipe have discussed to the school superintendents the initial plans of the group that has mounted the inaugural CGFI Golf Cup at Camp John Hay and Pinewoods Golf & Country Club on May 18 to 20.

The proposals of the school officials were already submitted to CGFI Corporate Secretary Marlo Quadra for evaluation by the board of trustees.
The CGFI board of trustees has approved the allocation of P300,000 to each schools division in the Cordillera to fund identified priority projects.
The school officials expressed their appreciation to the CGFI for identifying the Department of Education as one of its partners in its civic projects and programs.
CGFI will also partner with other agencies and institutions for its other projects and programs.
With close to 50 to 60 teams composed of four players each team having signified their intent to be part of the maiden tournament, crew at the CJH and PGCC are busy preparing the fairways.
Practice rounds will be on May 16 and 17 while tournament proper will be on May 18 and 19 at CJH and on May 18 to 20 at PGCC.
CGFI has tapped the services of experts with years of experience in supervising national tournaments to ensure the event will be one of the highly-competitive tournaments in the country.
Teams from as far as Palawan and Cebu City have signified their intent to compete with teams from Metro Manila, central Luzon, and the Cordillera. – Harley F. Palangchao
