The city government spearheaded by the Baguio City Public Library is celebrating the 31st Library and Information Services Month with the theme, “Libraries building ROADS: Readers. Opportunities. Advocacies. Development. Sustainability.”

It will also celebrate the 87th National Book Week from Nov. 24 to 30 with the theme, “Outcomes. Outreach. Outstanding. Libraries Beyond Boundaries.”

City Librarian Easter W. Pablo said slated activities include  video launching of activities and posting of registration links for the contests, Nov. 2; online storytelling, Nov. 3 to 6; library engagement questions through the Baguio City Public Library Facebook page, Nov. 8 to 10; posting of book face entries, Nov. 11 to 15; announcement of book face winners/Facebook live, Nov. 15; posting of book tok entries, Nov. 16 to 19; announcement of book tok winders/Facebook live, Nov. 19; posting of book character online costume parade contest, Nov. 20 to 24; announcement of book                                         character winners/Facebook live, Nov. 24; posting of online storytelling entries, Nov. 25 to 29; and announcement of online storytelling contest/Facebook live on Nov. 29.

Pablo said they are also implementing the test period of Ordinance 16, s. 2021 from Nov. 8 to Dec. 8, with the BCPL open to the public from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.

She said overnight borrowing of books will also be allowed during the period with certain guidelines including possible outsource services that may be implemented like café, charging station (with pay), photocopying, printing, and scanning. – Gaby B. Keith
