The Philippine Amusement Gaming Corporation committed to provide P65 million for various projects of the city government.
Pagcor Chair Andrea Domingo made the commitment to Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong during a recent meeting.
Magalong said P50M will be used for the construction of two multipurpose buildings in barangays that are capable of providing 1,000-square meters land, P10M will be used to improve the Post Office park, and P3M to P5M will be for the procurement of information and communication technology equipment.
Magalong said he asked Pagcor to co consider relaxing its guidelines in the requirement for land area that will be provided as counterpart for the construction of the multipurpose centers. Instead of 1,500-square meters, Magalong asked to reduce the area to 1,000 square meters.
He said the funds will be downloaded to the local government this year.
Magalong asked concerned offices of the city government to look for the barangays that can host these projects and to prepare their plans and specifications to be submitted to Pagcor.
