TABUK CITY, KALINGA – Coffee farmers of the Nambucayan Agriculture Cooperative (NACO) received a P2.13 million worth Shared Service Facility to boost their coffee industry.
The assistance is under the Integrated Natural Resources and Management Program (Inremp) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and funded by the Asian Development Bank.
Under the project’s Livelihood Enhancement Support  component, NACO received depulper machine, solar energy set, coffee holler, roaster and grinding machine, vacuum and hand sealers, carrying trolley, weighing scale, packaging materials, and P50,000 working capital for purchase of raw materials amounting to P1,080,000.
The cooperative also received P1,050,000 for the construction of a coffee processing building.
NACO Manager Luzviminda Valderama said the assistance will provide processing capability to small member coffee farmers to increase profitability. – Larry Lopez
