Mayor Benjamin Magalong called out anew contractors undertaking projects in the city who neglect the upkeep of their project sites especially those along sidewalks.
“Your negligence reflects on the image of the city. When people see dirt along streets, they do not only see a dirty sidewalk. They also see a dirty, disorderly Baguio City,” he said.
The mayor chanced upon the unkempt sidewalk project site along Leonard Wood Road while on his way to inspect the Botanical Garden last Feb. 15.
“Please remove these debris and keep your project sites clean. Let this be a blanket directive to all contractors doing projects in the city. Care for your city,” he said.
The mayor had from time to time issued a similar reminder to barangays with littered roadsides and alleys.
“Please maintain cleanliness of our surroundings not only to make them pleasing to the eyes but foremost for the health and safety of our constituents,” he said. – Aileen P. Refuerzo
