The city council commended Baguio City judo athletes who earned medals in the Muntinlupa Invitational Cup in November 2022.
Earlier, several Baguio-based judo athletes clinched se-ven gold, seven silver, and five bronze medals in the tournament held at the Muntinlupa Coliseum.
Gold medalists were Natalie Gaspar, Jan Samuel Dino, Mark David, Calingayon, Juan Gael Javier Alberto VII and with a silver, Skyler Martin with two golds, and Jammil Bien Lorenzo.
Silver medalists were Mikeighla Louise de Vera, Aljen Josh Colintas, Alexyz Aeon Allan, Aeon Lance Kim, Mark Francis Quirimit, and Mack Jhiro Calingayon, who also won a bronze medal.
Bronze medalists were Megan Jane dela Pena, and Rhenzo Wryxter, Leerenz Tindaan while the men’s team also won another bronze for the city.
Through a resolution of commendation, the city said the outstanding performances of the judo athletes with the supervision of their coaches have portrayed unquestionable discipline and sports excellence perfected through years of training and dedication is worthy of emulation. – PIO release
