City officials recognized and commended members of the Ramos family who represented the city in national and international triathlon races and events for their outstanding achievements.

In a resolution, the city council said the Ramos family of triathletes led by spouses Jet Carl Ramos and Lou Ann Hamada-Ramos, along with their three sons, Josh, Dash Carl, and Euan Arrow, are closely knit and enjoy doing things together as a team that actively engages in triathlon and other outdoor activities.

The council said the Ramos family has been bestowing pride and glory to the city and the country by being victorious in national and internationally-sanctioned triathlon races.

“The exceptional performances of the Ramos family composed of world class triathletes serve as an inspiration to their fellow citizens who aspire to excel and bring national and international recognitions to the city and the country,” reads the council resolution.

It added the remarkable performances of the Baguio triathletes have portrayed unquestionable discipline and sports excellence perfected through the years of training and dedication that is worthy of emulation especially the youth. 

Triathlon is a multisport race that involves swimming, biking, and running across long distances. It is extremely rigorous as it requires mastery of three different types of sports that require competitors to be in the best shape possessing perseverance and endurance while being pushed to the extreme. – PIO release
