Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar has ordered all commands and units of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera to maintain cleanliness in their offices and promote cleansing within their ranks.
Eleazar, in his recent visit to the regional headquarters at Camp Bado Dang-wa in La Trinidad, Benguet lauded the local police stations he visited in the region for their high compliance rate to the intensified cleanliness policy of his leadership.
The PNP chief said police discipline starts in the cleanliness of their offices particularly in substations and community police assistance centers.
He commended the cleanliness of the municipal police stations of Tuba, Tublay, Itogon, and La Trinidad in Benguet and Baguio City Police Office stations 3,4,5,8, and 7.
“Maaaring isipin natin na napakasimple at bakit ito ang tinututukan natin. Pero diyan lahat nagsisimula ang disiplina,” he said.
Eleazar, who graced the 120th Police Service Anniversary on Aug. 16, will also intensify the internal cleansing policy of the PNP to build image of the organization due to the few scalawags within its ranks.
He said this starts with the recruitment process by dismantling the padrino system or patronage culture.
“Recruitment will define the future of our organization,” he said.
He said Cordillera is the major source of the policemen and women with good track records and where most of the featured good deeds of the police force come from.
“PNP personnel in this region are the ones we can rely on,” he said.
