We are deeply saddened by the death of our teacher Rudy Steward D. “Estee” Sayen, Jr.

Be it noted that the frontline of our basic education is our teachers. They impart their knowledge, skills and values to develop the full potentials of learners. They go through ways to teach and perform their duties hoping to leave a legacy for their students. Thus, we can say that our dear teachers are the true demonstration that not all heroes wear capes.

Estee was the life of the classroom. She made sure that her students grasp the lesson. Her co-teachers said that she went the extra mile to ensure that no student is left behind.

The DepEd needs more teachers like Sayen. Her death means a great loss in Abra. The Schools Division of Abra strongly condemns her untimely demise due to premeditated transgressions and offenses to her being and person.

The DepEd Schools Division of Abra is grateful for the quick response made by our Philippine National Police. We hope and pray that justice be served.

To the Sayen family, especially to the grieving mother, your strength symbolizes the passionate service exemplified by Estee.

We empathize and mourn with you. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers go with you.

God always hears our cries and listens to our sorrows. He is our refuge in this trying time. — Department of Education-Schools Division, Abra
