TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Department of Labor and Employment provincial office conducted campus level career coaching workshops to guide graduating senior high school students in choosing their courses in college.

The schools co-vered in the initial leg are St. Louis College of Bulanao and Saint William’s Academy in Tabuk City and Ba-ngad National High School (NHS) and Tinglayan NHS in Tinglayan.

Anthony Luminang of DOLE-Kalinga advised the students to choose the course related to the career they intend to pursue.

He said the correct choice of course would lead to one’s desired jobs after college.

He added to start a career, one should consider three things: know yourself, know what you can do, and do what you plan to do.

Luminang presented the situation on labor and employment emphasizing on unemployment, underemployment, and job mismatch.

“We can help address the situation by equipping labor with related courses, enough training, and proper work habits. We need this considering that labor is a major player in the nation’s economic growth,” he said. – Larry Lopez
