The Cordillera offices of the departments of Science and Technology, Trade and Industry, and Information and Communications Technology, in collaboration with the Technological Consortium for Awareness, Readiness, and Advancement of Knowledge in Innovation- Cordillera (Taraki-CAR) concluded the first leg of the regional startup caravan with the theme “Travelling towards an innovative Cordillera”held at the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) on Sept. 28, and at the Ifugao State University on Sept. 29.

The activity aimed to promote startups and innovation among the faculty and students of IFSU and MPSPC; micro, small, and medium enterprises; and startup enthusiasts. It also served as a venue to map out the needs of the participants through an open forum.

At the MPSPC in Bontoc, Mountain Province, the team presented the different government funding opportunities for businesses and innovative startups to the participants, students taking Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, BS in Accountancy, and MSMEs.

At IFSU, university officials convened the students taking up BS in Information and Technology, and staff members from the offices of Intellectual Property and Technology Business Incubation Office and Research, Development, Extension, and Training. IFSU President Eva Marie Dugyon, expressed their support for the activity saying they always encouraged their students as future employers by putting up businesses to help spur economic development in the communities. – Press release
