The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera showcased its accomplishments, programs, and initiatives in a forum held recently.

DSWD-Cordillera Director Maria A. Catbagan-Aplaten said the three centers and residential care facilities (CRCF), namely the Regional Haven for Women and Girls (RHWG), the Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC), and the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY) served 101 clients and rehabilitated 53 individuals.

Of the 101 clients served, 32 were catered at the RHWG, 33 at the RSCC, 36 at the RRCY.  Seven of the rehabilitated individuals were catered at the RHWG, 28 at the RSCC, and 18 at the RRCY.

Asst. Regional Director for Operations Enrique H. Gascon, Jr. said the DSWD-Cordillera infused technology and innovation into its processes to make it easier for clients and beneficiaries to receive assistance.

Among these innovations include the use of a QR Code during massive pay-outs and the maintenance of a digital database that the regional office dubbed as Aramid – translated as “output” – an online portal that offers centralized access for public and internal users to all applications and systems developed by the Information and Communications Technology Section of DSWD-Cordillera.

The initiative was one of the Top 3 Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) initiatives during the 6th National DSWD M&E Conference this year.

One of the highlights of the activity was spoken poetry performance and song number by two RRCY residents who are expected to be discharged from the center and are now looking forward to returning to their respective communities, with holistic help and support from the DSWD-Cordillera and their families.

Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ipagpapatuloy namin ang aming nasimulan na pagsisilbi sa ating mga komunidad at lalo pa naming itong papaigtingin para sa ikabubuti ng lahat,” Aplaten said.” – Nerizza Faye G. Villanueva-Trinidad and Christian Robert M. Sandoval
