“I thank my God each time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:3-6)
Engr. Liza Jane P. Challikis, head of the National Irrigation Administration-Mountain Province, has discerned well and decided to gather her colleagues, family, and friends for the Holy Eucharist for thanksgiving and prayer.
During and after the Holy Eucharist, she felt the love of Jesus that gave her a better acceptance and understanding of her departure from NIA-Mountain Province after almost three years in the office.
Here’s her thanksgiving and send off program message:
“First, I want to express my deep gratitude to each one of you for joining me today. It’s bittersweet as I say goodbye to this amazing team here at Mountain Province satellite office after two years and 10 months.
I was here in 1992. On May 11, 1993, I was transferred to the regional office in Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet when NIA-Cordillera was founded. I stayed at the regional office for almost 29 years and then suddenly, I was sent to Mountain Province. I sighed, “Wow…going back to the province.”
In 2018, Director Benito T. Espique, Jr. talked to me. He offered Mountain Province but I said, “Not now sir. I want to continue my studies for my masters in Community Development at Benguet State University.”
In 2021, Director Espique was persistent. He talked to me again for the assignment in Mountain Province.
I like to take a moment to reflect on my message during the turnover of management on Sept. 1, 2021 with an acronym “Accept.”
Accept the challenges with courage and enthusiasm to carry out the plans and programs of NIA through teamwork.
During my stay here at the Mountain Province satellite office, we did have teamwork. Everybody worked as a team. It cannot be denied. The management recognized our efforts, commitment, and dedication. The beautiful effects cannot be hidden.
During the 59thanniversary of NIA, we received the Pilot of the Year or Best Provincial Head CY 2022 award. Blessings were pouring to NIA. On the 60th and 30th anniversary of NIA-Cordillera in 2023, we were awarded for the second time, the Pilot of the Year or Best Provincial Head coupled with Growth Driver of the Year – an award recognizing commitment and dedication of mentors and coaches to organizational knowledge management helping fellow employees grow personally and professionally, together with Engr. Wilfred Kabluyen and Engr. Milton Tawali, Jr.
I have learned a lot from each of you. I was blessed with the opportunity to grow personally and professionally during my time here.
The memories we made and shared together, the challenges we have overcome, the successes we celebrated will always hold a special place in my heart.
But beyond the work, I will be missing the camaraderie and the sincere friendship that we made and formed us: The loads of laughter in this receiving area, the support during tough times, and the shared celebrations that significantly made this workplace my second family.
As I move on to new adventures and challenges, please know that I take with me not just the skills and knowledge gained but also cherished relationships and memories.
I am excited about what the future holds. But I will always look back on my time here with fondness and gratitude.
I will not doubt. This team will continue to achieve great things. I have a strong confidence in your capabilities to excel and to look forward that MPSO will continue to reap awards. Nevertheless, it will be a big challenge to the incoming provincial head…with all of you.
Before I conclude, I like to express my best wishes to everyone of you. May you continue to reach new heights, overcome any obstacles that come your way, and find joy and fulfillment in your work.
Please keep in touch. My contact information is through discord, cellphone number, Messenger. I love to hear from you and maybe meet up when circumstances allow.
Thank you again for being a part of my journey here. It has been an honor and a privilege to work with you
Wishing you all the best! Take care and stay safe.”
