FATHER OF PANAGBENGA HONORED — The bust of the late Atty. Damaso E. Bangaoet, Jr., considered the Father of Panagbenga, was unveiled at the Panagbenga Park on Feb. 24 by members of the Bangaoet family led by his son, Damaso III, together with city officials, local dignitaries, and members of the Upsilon Sigma Phi Batch ‘59, of which Bangaoet was a member. Bangaoet, fondly called by many as Damy, has recommended for the holding of a flower festival in the month of February when he was the managing director of John Hay Poro Point Development, a subsidiary of the Bases Conversion Development Authority. He also sought Ike Picpican, a curator of Saint Louis University, a more fitting name for the flower festival. — Ompong Tan
