BONTOC, Mountain Province – The municipal government here has released its last batch of financial assistance sourced from the P10 million from the Local Government Support Fund-Financial Assistance to Local Government Units downloaded to Bontoc for social services and burial assistance to indigent individuals.

The amount covered 80 beneficiaries: burial assistance for 23 individuals and medical assistance for 58 individuals, including assistance with hemodialysis, medicines, chemotherapy, and hospital bills.

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office reported the fund allocated for such assistance has been fully exhausted.

Mayor Jerome Tudlong, Jr., who led the turnover, acknowledged the challenges posed by the depleted fund but said the municipal government is determined to seek for additional resources.

“Although the fund allocated for these purposes has been fully exhausted, please know that we remain committed to exploring additional resources and avenues to extend our assistance. We are actively working with stakeholders to seek sustainable solutions and secure more support for those in need,” he added.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support they received, emphasizing the significant impact it had on their lives during challenging circumstances.

The financial aid program which aimed to provide crucial support during difficult times has been instrumental in easing the financial strains faced by beneficiaries. The burial assistance extended a helping hand to families dealing with the loss of their loved ones, while the medical support encompassed a range of vital healthcare needs, ensuring access to treatments, medications, and hospital expenses. – Christy Mae Pangesfan
