Highland golfers Jeremiah Guanso of Pines Kumpadres Golf Club, Inc. (PKGCI) and Frankie Miranda of Baguio Blue Bloods (BBB) took home the top honors in the golf for-a-cause held at Pinewoods Golf & Country Club on weekend.

Guanso carded an even par-72 courtesy of three birdies to win the lowest gross award or the overall champion in the tournament organized by Saint Louis University Boys High Class of 1979.

Miranda, on the other hand, made a strong comeback with a one-under par in the back nine after a seven-over in the front for 78 less his day handicap of 11 to win the lowest net award.

Warren Dagupon of PKGCI topped the men’s class A with 79 gross followed by Ike Eslao with 83.

Comebacking Arnold Tolding of BBB topped the men’s B with 92 followed by fellow BBB player Paeng Ding with 93.

PKGCI’s Vincent Balaodan has emerged as class C champion with a net of 78 followed by Baeron Pul-oc with 81 net.

Dr. Helly Henry topped the female side with a net of 75 followed by former Pugo, La Union Mayor Precy Martin with a net of 78.

SLU Boys High ‘79 president Gabby Alabanza thanked all the players, especially the sponsors and partners for supporting the tournament that raised funds for the group’s civic activities.

Earlier, the class reached out to the more than 40 members of the Baguio Organization of the Blind and handed over a check worth P40,000 as assistance to the group. – HFP
