LAMUT, Ifugao – Products of local entrepreneurs are now available at the recently opened One Town One Product (OTOP) Pasalubong and Tourism Showroom at the Lamut Tourism Information Center in Mabato-bato in this town.

A project of the Lamut Tourism Office in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry-Ifugao under its OTOP Philippines, the showroom offers the different OTOP of the barangays in the municipality and local products of nearby towns of Ifugao. It is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays to Saturdays, and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

“Lamut is still growing. This is to inspire us to grow and expand our micro, small and medium enterprises products,” said Municipal Tourism Operations Officer Harvey Gumayon.

Partner agencies such as the Department of Science and Technology, DTI, and the Department of Agrarian Reform have been providing technical support and trainings to the MSMEs for the development or improvement of their products.

Lamut Vice Mayor Everda Desiree Dulinayan encouraged stakeholders to patronize the local products and help in the promotion locally and globally.

“I hope all of us will be inspired to make our OTOP be known not only locally but globally. We can achieve this if we patronize it, if we promote it, if we endorse it consistently and not occasionally. We should patronize our products on a regular basis,” Dulinayan said.

She also encouraged MSM entrepreneurs to keep improving and innovating on their products, assuring Lamut officials are there to support them and to provide entrepreneurs with promotional platforms such as the OTOP pasalubong and tourism showroom. – Florida B. Robles
