Former mixed martial arts champion Stephen Loman’s much-awaited debut in ONE Championship is not a walk in the park.
Multiple sources have confirmed that the 24-year-old Loman will face Brazilian John Lineker, currently ranked number one top contender in the bantamweight division and a former veteran in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, the undisputed top MMA promotion in the world.
The Loman-Lineker bantamweight bout is part of the ONE’s blockbuster shows on TNT 4 set at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in April.
MMA fans around the world will be tuned in to ONE next month, as they expect the upcoming bout will bring fireworks with Loman being the longest world champion before vacating his Brave Combat Federation belt to join ONE early this year.
The 30-year-old Lineker, on the other hand, is one of rising stars in ONE after stopping former two-time ONE bantamweight world champion Kevin Belingon via technical knockout in October last year.
Prior to that, Lineker, who possesses powerful knockout punches, also defeated former title contender Muin Gafurov via decision.
Lineker is one of the most experienced MMA fighters from Brazil with 33 wins and nine losses in his professional MMA resume.
Loman is ready to face Lineker inside the ONE circle, as the Cordilleran warrior from the famed Team Lakay has been busy training even during this pandemic.
The last time Loman fought was in November 2019 when he successfully defended his Brave CF belt and became the longest reigning champion for more than 1,000 days before he severed ties with the Bahrain-based MMA promotion.
