Fete de la Musique PH goes to Baguio’s Session Road June 26 with 17 performers.

Alongside Sunday Market Showcase at Session Road, which will begin at 7 a.m., the public will be treated with free musical performances beginning 1 p.m.

The Baguio Stage of the Fete de la Musique PH will be at Session Road cor. Calderon St. with the following performers: Dilaw, BakaBaka, TrunCoats, Sonny Bambino, Lowtechs, Amateurish, Zsaris, Rice Lucido, Leanne & Naara, Ibarra, Marcus Moon, TUS, Blue Ruins, Mantra x Makina, Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas, Ang Bagong Luto ni Enriquez, and 10 AM Departure.

Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong issued Executive Order 70, s. 2022 declaring June 26 as the World Music Day Festival in Baguio to provide the public with free musical performances aimed at promoting unity and appreciation of music.

In 2017, the city government of Baguio and the French Embassy in the Philippines together with the Alliance Francais de Manille presented for the very first time the Fete de la Musique in the city showcasing over 40 performers coming from the National Capital Region.

In recognition to the tourism and economic impact of the event, the city council passed Resolution 117, s. 2017 declaring every 21st day of the month of June every year as World Music Day in Baguio.

Fête de la Musique also known as Music Day, Make Music Day, or World Music Day is an annual music festivity that is celebrated on the 21st of June, which started in France in 1982 and is now celebrated in over 700 cities and 120 countries.

Fête de la Musique in the Philippines 2022 is presented by Alliance Française de Manille, in partnership with the Embassy of France to the Philippines and B Side Productions, and co-organized by the Department of Tourism. – Jessa Mardy P. Samidan
