TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The National Bureau of Investigation-Cagayan Valley Regional Office 2 opened a satellite office in this city.

NBI Region 2 Director Gelacio Bongat said organic personnel will alternately supervise the office with assistance of job order workers.

The primary service offered at the NBI satellite office is the processing of clearance but the public may file complaints and accepts requests for autopsy, finger prints, and other forensic services, Bongat said.

City Information Officer Aurora Amilig who was the first client of the field office said that it took her only five minutes to process her online application for NBI clearance and was released shortly after.

“We appreciate Director Bongat and his team for this very timely and important service they have extended to Tabuk City and Kalinga as a whole,” she said.

Mayor Darwin Estrañero welcomed this development saying it will be of great help to the people of Tabuk, the province and nearby provinces and clients now spend less in securing a clearance.

The establishment of the NBI Satellite Office was the initiative of Gov. Ferdinand Tubban when he was the mayor of Tabuk.

A proposed NBI building costing P50 million was submitted to the Office of the Congressman for funding by the Department of Public Works and Highways. – Peter A. Balocnit
