Students who love composing music or creating video content may have a chance to showcase their talent to a larger audience and win a prize at the same time by joining the nutri-jingle video contest sponsored by the National Nutrition Council-Cordillera and the CAR Media Educators on Nutrition (CAR MENU).
Now on its second season, the contest is part of the NNC’s campaign on increasing awareness about the importance of nutrition especially on the first 1,000 days of a child.
Bannering the theme “Tamang nutrisyon, karapatan ng bawat bata,” the nutri-jingle video contest is open to students enrolled in state colleges and universities.
In support of the campaign, Commission on Higher Education Regional Director Demetrio Anduyan issued Regional Memorandum 90 s. 2021 enjoining the presidents of the Abra State Institute of Science and Technology, Apayao State College, Benguet State University, Ifugao State University, Kalinga State University, Mountain Province State Polytechnic College, and University of the Philippines Baguio to encourage their students to participate in the contest.
Interested participants must signify their interest to join by emailing the NNC at [email protected] or direct message in the NNC’s Facebook account at @nnc.car on or before Sept. 30.
Deadline for the submission of entries is on Oct. 25 at 1 p.m.
Participants should be composed of a minimum of three and a maximum of five members. In compliance with health protocols, participants should show in the video that they are using facemasks and faceshields and are three meters apart.
The jingle-video must be recorded in mp4 format with not less than 1280×720 resolution.
The jingle-video must have a maximum length of two minutes. All entries should begin with a title screen that states “Nutri-Jingle 2021,” the name or logo of the school and the hashtag #OneNutritionOneCordillera.
Entries may be in the local dialect, English, Filipino, or Iloco. If using the local dialect, include subtitles with English or Filipino translation.
Entries must be an original composition and should not have been used in other competitions. Entries may be accompanied by recorded or live musical instruments.
Entries should be submitted to the NNC-Cordillera at [email protected] with these details: name of school, name of participants, lyrics of song, translation if applicable, name of advisor/coach, contact person, contact number, and email address.
Entries will be uploaded in the NNC-Cordillera website from Oct. 28 to Nov. 5 for sharing and getting of social media reactions.
Judging will be based on scoring by the panel of judges (80 percent) and social media reactions (20 percent).
Winners will be given cash prizes plus certificate. First prize will have P16,000; second prize, P12,000; third prize, P8,000; and five other contestants will be given a cash prize of P3,000 each.
Coaches will also be awarded with certificates.
