Team Lakay’s Jeremy Pacatiw will make his second fight appearance in ONE Championship against an equally young and talented Fabricio Andrade of Brazil in Singapore on Feb. 25.
The 25-year-old Pacatiw is expecting a tough duel against the Brazilian, who has never been defeated in five fights since April 2018.
Andrade, 24, is currently ranked fourth in the bantamweight division following his three consecutive wins in Asia’s biggest sports media property.
He defeated Filipino-New Zealander Mark Abelardo in his ONE debut before he topped Shoko Sato of Japan and Li Kai Wen of China.
The Brazilian fighter currently has six wins against two losses.
Pacatiw, on the other hand, had an impressive ONE debut winning via unanimous decision against Rui Chen of China in July 2021.
With 10 wins and four losses in his resume, Pacatiw was one of the few fighters previously signed with Bahrain-based Brave Combat Federation who have fought in more than five countries.
The pride of Kapangan, Benguet scored his biggest win so far when he stopped former Brave title contender Felipe Efrain via technical knockout in December 2019.
At the time, Pacatiw became a bantamweight title contender when teammate Stephen Loman was the reigning division champion.
Pacatiw and Loman opted not to renew their contracts with Brave and have decided to join ONE Championship.
Meanwhile, Team Lakay announced that Jenelyn Olsim has withdrawn from her scheduled bout with Jihin Radzuan set on Feb. 11 due to an injury she sustained in training.
“I was supposed to battle Jihin on three weeks’ notice, but due to a bad accidental injury I had in one of our sparring sessions, our medical doctor diagnosed me unfit to continue the fight and told me that I need to physically recover,” Olsim said. – Harley F. Palangchao
