TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The public availed of free health services and medicines in the PhilHealth Konsulta, Konsultasyon, Sulit at Tama Caravan launching here recently.
The konsulta package jointly provided by PhilHealth-Kalinga and Tabuk City Health Services Office consisted of medical consultation, health screening and assessments, laboratory tests and medicines.
Dr. Dominga Gadgad, PhilHealth Cordillera vice president, said Tabuk City is the second local government unit in the region to receive the health package. Luna, Apayao first received the package.
Gadgad said PhilHealth-Kalinga is set to bring the konsulta package to the other municipalities of Kalinga.
Gadgad said the project is in line with government’s thrust of bringing affordable and accessible primary health care to communities, especially to marginalized sectors.
Under the program, PhilHealth had partnered with LGUs in equipping rural health units.
Mayor Darwin C. Estranero assured the LGU’s support to health programs saying a healthy community brings healthy economy. – Larry Lopez
