Members of the Pines Kumpadres Golf Club, Inc. dominated the two main categories of the 2nd IDOL Cup at Pinewoods Golf & Country Club on May 31 to June 2.

The tournament, organized by the Raffy Tulfo in Action Northern Luzon, saw the awarding of financial assistance for the repair of Oling Elementary School in Dalupirip, Itogon, Benguet.

The tandem of touring professional golfer Jay Bayron and amateur golfer Henry Rosito of PKGCI topped the pro-am category, edging a dozen of teams from all over the country.

The pair of local golf coach Sonny Liwan and his prodigy, Joel Angday, has emerged as the champion in the elite division 1 of the amateur-amateur category after posting a nine-under after 36 holes of proper tournament.

Hazy Miranda and Tonton Fernandez placed second with six-under with the team of George Punasen and Cris Garbo placing third a three-under.

PKGCI members Sammy Sab-it and Dalmacio Sissi-it topped the am-am division 2 with a one-under after two rounds followed by the duo of Franky Miranda and Rey Angel who carded an even par.

The teams of Eric Espadero and Bond Holden Mangaoang and Andrew Cayad and Mark Jeff Balangitan were tied in third place with identical one-over aggregated score.

Michael Atolba and Vincent Balaodan, also of PKGCI, emerged as am-am division 3 champions with a combined two over score followed by the pair of Noel Lamsis and Roland Gundran with four-over and Ramir Badua and Engilbert Pichay with eight-over.

The pair of Angel Ruth Aquino and Rae Dayasen clinched the am-am division 4 with total of four-over followed by the pairs of Donald Daganos with Danny Mangallay and Kevin Capuyan with JM Mendoza.

The tournament, which aims to bring awareness and support of RTIA programs and activities while providing assistance to the golfing community, was graced by Maricel Tulfo-Tungol, daughter of Sen. Raffy Tulfo.
