The Lagawe Municipal Police Station (MPS) organized a feeding program for children at Cudog Elementary School.
Cpl. Noel Gayamo, Staff/Sgt. Angelica Dimog, Staff/Sgt. Alice Tucling, Staff/Sgt. Fernando Nalago, and Staff/Master/Sgt. Allan Ollagon led the feeding program.
The intended number of children to receive meals was 40, but because several were absent, only 20 students received snacks from the police officers.
Cpl. Noel Gayamo said the feeding program is one of the activities being carried out to uphold the Philippine National Police principles of Makadiyos, Makakalikasan, Makatao, at Makabansa.
Gayamo said the school visits and feeding program is one of the strategies done by the PNP to get closer to the children who were wrongly taught to be sacred of the police.
The Lagawe MPS personnel pooled their resources to make the feeding program possible.
The PNP received positive feedback from the children after the food distribution.
Gayamo said aside from patrolling and maintaining peace and order, police personnel also organize social activities to promote community cooperation.
The feeding program of PNP is conducted monthly in elementary schools in every municipality of Ifugao. – Nameryl U. Ognayon
