As an augmentation to the relief efforts, the Philippine National Police-Cordillera Administrative Region Training Center (PNP-CARTC) donated food packs to 150 beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) at Barangay Middle Quezon Hill.

CARTC Regional Training Director, Lt/Col. Manolito Parazo, said that the initiative is part of the social responsibility and advocacy of the center to care and share blessings to families who were mostly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Department of Social Welfare and Development-Cordillera Director Leo L. Quintilla lauded the initiative of the PNP-CARTC and for choosing the 4Ps beneficiaries for their relief activities.

“We recognize the initiative of the CARTC for our 4Ps beneficiaries in the city. Even before this activity, we have always considered our police to be our partner in social welfare and development not just for 4Ps but even in our disaster response efforts,” Quintilla said.

DSWD 4Ps Regional Program Coordinator Fatima Florendo said that the agency is in the process of formalizing the partnership through a memorandum of agreement.

Florendo said that once the partnership is formalized, the DSWD-Cordillera and PNP-CARTC will expand its services and activities to other indigent and vulnerable sectors of the community outside Baguio City. – Marlo C. Abyado, Jr.
