The Police Regional Office-Cordillera has dissolved the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) after two of its personnel are implicated in the abduction of a civilian, whose headless remains was found in a town in Benguet.

PRO-Cor Director, Gen. R’Win Pagkalinawan said the personnel involved operated on their own. He said every province has its own drug enforcement unit which implements anti-drug laws.

The two policemen are under restrictive custody pending investigation and determination of the case to be filed.

Pagkalinawan said all other personnel were ordered to return to their respective units.

He said DEU personnel will be made to undergo drug testing.

On Nov. 12, a headless body was found in Tublay, Benguet.

This was followed by a social media post showing five people abducting a person at Barangay Irisan.

Police later learned that the headless body was that of the person who was abducted.

Investigation by the Baguio City Police Office showed that the persons involved in the abduction are personnel of the RDEU who are assigned at the Baguio-DEU. PNA release
