Benguet golfer George Punasen has scored a commanding 47 Molave points to top the yearend Pines Kumpadres Golf Club, Inc. at the Pinewoods Golf & Country Club on weekend.
Teeing from the gold mark, Punasen was seven over par-72 to lead all Kumpadres players and guests, who saw action in one of the trickiest golf courses in the country today.
Punasen was six over in front nine before giving his best for a one over in the last remaining nine holes for the top prize.
Punasen, the only player who scored par at the most difficult 11th hole, also led Team Alligator that carded 287 aggregate points for the group event championship honors.
Edwin Macgui-ing, despite his foot injury, came in second place to win the only runner-up plum with 41 points.
Macgui-ing was five over in front nine and four over in the back nine for an 81-gross finish. He is also a member of the Team Lacoste that placed second in the group event with total of 271 points.
Rubi Cuta, meanwhile, was the only player to score an eagle at the par-five hole 10 despite finishing a gross of 97.
Sammy Sab-it and Rene Pasiwen both scored 41 Molave points for the top four finishes.
