TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Revenue District Office (RDO)-11 covering Kalinga and Apayao has exceeded its January to July 2020 tax collection target by 23.67 percent.
RDO-11 Head Dominga Bangao reported that the actual tax collection for the past seven months is P371 million. Their target is P300M.
Based on RDO-11’s collection report, government withholding tax is the top source of taxes accounting about 80 percent of the total collection.
Bangao said although taxes withheld from contracts on government infrastructure projects, was low this time due to the Covid-19 pandemic, government purchases during the period were high because of the need for Covid-19 equipment and logistics, which contributed largely to the district’s high collection performance.
She said this had remarkably offset the collection gap.
