BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Philippine Red Cross-Mountain Province recently conducted a blood donation drive in partnership with the local government unit of Paracelis.
Thirty individuals volunteered for the blood donation but only 23 were able to donate as the others had low hemoglobin level and elevated blood pressure.
The volunteers were from Paracelis and from the Alpha Company of the 69th Infantry Battalion, 7th Infantry Division of the Army.
Florita A. Sacgaca of the PRC said the bloodletting is a res-ponse to transfusion therapies and the increasing number of hemodialysis patients in need of blood transfusion.
Other activities in the caravan included Water and Sanitation Hygiene (WASH) promotion and hygiene kits distribution, hair grooming, PRC membership with accidental assistance benefits program, and dental health with fluoridation.
Sacgaca expressed gratitude to municipal government, line agency partners, and private donors.
Among the donors that provided supplies and materials are the Generics Pharmacy that donated 40 hygiene kits; CFB Marketing that donated 90 gift packs composed of 500 alcohol spray and vitamins; Children’s International Philippines, Inc. through the Office of the Congressman; Northland Tech Institute; and Billy Regaspi, Jr. for the gift items for WASH participants.
“Words are not enough to express our utmost gratitude to our donors and sponsors. Thank you for supporting our advocacy and activities,” the PRC stated in a Facebook post.
