BANGUED, Abra – The Department of Social Welfare and Development here continues to release family food packs (FFPs) to local government units in the province to augment their responses to the Covid-19 pandemic.

DSWD-Abra Project Development Officer Garri Brillantes said the initiative is under the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

The FFPs, which contain canned goods, rice, and sachets of coffee and cereal energy drink, will augment the needs of families and locally stranded individuals (LSIs) who are undergoing the mandatory quarantine at the municipal isolation units.

Brillantes said the LGUs may request additional FFPs from the DWSD if they are accommodating more LSIs.

He said the release of FFPs is done through the requisition and issue slip.

“The LGUs are also following our guide and inventory in the appropriate distribution of these supplies,” Brillantes said.

The FFPs for the province are stored at Calaba Elementary School, the main hauling point for requesting LGUs.

Brillantes reported the DSWD central office immediately provides FFPs if supplies are close to depletion.
