City Planning and Development Office Coordinator Donna Rillera Tabangin is asking concerned local government offices to collaborate on data generation as Baguio City continues to update its Land Use Plan and Zoning Code.

She made the request during the management committee meeting of local officials led by Mayor Benjamin Magalong on Dec. 14.

These offices include the Assessors, Treasury, Buildings and Architecture, Engineering, Environment and Parks Management, Veterinary and Agriculture, and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.

Tabangin said the CPDO is currently mapping actual land use phenomenon and developing a mathematical, visual and graphical process to determine height requirements of structures for the updating of the city’s Zoning Code.

Tabangin said her office is currently revisiting the actual use of each cadastral plot of land in the city using data base provided by the City Assessor’s Office.

She said an integrated data base and land use base map will ease the planning and decision processes of city government offices.

“Our goal of finishing this project is one year since the land use base map will be finished this month so we could share this already.  Concerned offices should start adding details and granular data,” Tabangin said.

She is hoping that by next year, the integrated data will help ease the city’s problems in the implementation of programs, projects and activities including disaster risk management. – Gaby B. Keith
