The SM Foundation recently donated medical supplies and protective equipment to hospitals in the North Luzon area as part of its commitment to serve during the Covid-19 pandemic.

These include personal protective equipment, N95 and surgical masks, gloves, raincoats, goggles, alcohol, and hygiene kits, which are part of the P170 million that SM has allocated for this purpose.

In Northern Luzon, these were donated to the Baguio General Hospital Medical Center in Baguio City and the Regional 1 Medical Center in Pangasinan; Dr. Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center in Cabanatuan, Southern Isabela Medical Center in Cauayan, Cagayan Valley Medical Center in Tuguegarao, and Paniqui General Hospital in Tarlac.

Other initiatives of the SM Group in response to the crisis are the waived rentals of all tenants of SM Supermalls nationwide, continued compensation of employees, and the extension of emergency financial assistance to its frontliners, security guards,  and janitorial staff during the Enhanced Community Quarantine period. – Press release
