Teachers of Suyoc Elementary School and Pacda ES and Lap-angan Primary School in Mankayan, Benguet were oriented on the changes on classroom observation tools.
School Head Danio P. Camodag led the orientation of the teachers.
The activity aimed to equip and update the teachers with the changes in the Classroom Observation Tool-Results-Based Performance Management System during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The teachers were reminded and updated on the terms usually encountered in their routine under the new normal.
Camodag said the three priority indicators that the observer will focus on are the teacher’s ability to apply knowledge of content within and across curriculum teaching areas; plan and deliver teaching strategies that are responsive to the special educational needs of learners in difficult circumstances, including geographic isolation, chronic illness, displacement due to armed conflict, urban resettlement, or disasters, and child abuse and child labor practices; and ability to select, develop, organize, and used appropriate teaching and learning resources, including technology, to address learning goals.
Camodag said the descriptions, feature of practice, and clarifications of each indicator serve as guides for the teachers in preparing their plan and as guide for the observer in rating the teacher.
Due to the absence of or limited capacity for face-to-face learning, there will only be two classroom observations for school year 2020-2021.
Camodag challenged the teachers to prepare appropriate lessons containing the three indicators. – Carolyn Tufay
