Politics represents life and love. We need politicians to lead us to work together to have a healthy society. They put up a government that takes care of the welfare of the people, encourages, and empowers them to be the best they should be. They make positive changes and contributions to the world. These are what I know and believe. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
It is alarming; the majority of news circulating from social media and television are disputes among politicians. They do their best to support their candidacy and present themselves to the public in their stupendous ways. Some are using unethical moves to slander their opponents. They are throwing quips that the other party also give retorts. What a disturbing attitude of leaders to be? These concerns me about the lives of these growing children. I foresee uncertainty in their future; Why? Because at this early stage of the campaign our aspiring leaders are polluting the environment politically.
In most cases, these children learn from their experiences and environment. Our values and characters during this campaign season will have an impact on their perspectives. These growing children are consciously aware of what is happening today. They are sensitive to any information; they have a depth of curiousness about everything they see and hear. It is heartbreaking; they are exposed to misconduct and ribaldry from politicians. In the worst case, they take these as a form of entertainment. They have the viewpoint that these activities are normal and acceptable to society. Those are now a factor that affects the development of their leadership abilities. How could we mold them into better citizens? How could we change their misconceptions? It is hurtful; is this the legacy we’re going to leave with our children and in this world? It should not be.
The future of these children is so much dependent on the blissful wisdom of the leaders. During this campaign, could we at least practice respect and show unconditional love. Your knowledge of presenting your platforms is much appreciated if done with grace and compassion that flows within you. You don’t need to dishonor others and put your dignity in vain. Together let us build a foundation of an environment of good practices and wise decisions. By doing so, we could give them a meaningful life and leave them the seeds of goodness and prosperity. These will grant continuing prosperity even the election is over.
Let us bow our heads to spread peace, love, and unity. Likewise, blow our horns to redirect those who are losing their positive states of consciousness.
The filing of candidacy for this May 2022 elections is over. I hope you are one of those candidates who filed with goodwill and humility. God bless you as you walk through your journey of making the world a better place. (ANNALYN CUDLI)
