Tublay, Benguet has received an ambulance from a non-government organization through the initiative of the Benguet caretaker Eric Go Yap.
Yap said Mayor Armando Lauro has reached out to him after the town’s lone ambulance bogged down and requires immediate replacement.
The solon has sought for assistance from the Pitmaster Foundation, which was established to initiate a charity project that aims to provide aid to indigent Filipinos, primarily to patients undergoing renal replacement therapy or hemodialysis.
The Pitmaster Foundation’s target population are patients diagnosed with chronic kidney disease on regular hemodialysis treatment in local government units or private hospitals as well as those needing the basic necessities for a hemodialysis treatment such as dialyzer and Epoetin Alfa injection.
The ambulance contains oxygen tank, blood pressure apparatus, fire extinguisher, medical kit/cabinet, dextrose handle, stretcher bed, flashlight, early warning device, and stethoscope, among others.
Yap said the other ambulance units, being secured by his office, would soon be turned over to the 13 municipalities. – Ofelia C. Empian
