Front Page VYING FOR UNESCO RECOGNITION Share this:FacebookX April 30, 2023 VYING FOR UNESCO RECOGNITION — The stone-walled Maligcong Rice Terraces in Bontoc, Mountain Province has been nominated for the UNESCO-Greece Melina Mercouri International Prize for the Safeguarding and Management of Cultural Landscapes. The Cultural Properties Protection and Regulation Division of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts has nominated the rice terraces for the award that was established in 1995 to reward outstanding examples of action to safeguard and enhance the world’s cultural landscapes.
