An open letter to congressman-elect Eric Yap of Benguet

I wrote three letters to the Benguet caretaker now congressman-elect Eric Yap but to this day I did not even receive a reply.
The first letter was on April 13, 2021 which was received at his district office at Cruz, La Trinidad on the same date.
My follow-up letter on July 21, 2021 was likewise received by the same office on July 26, 2021.
The third follow-up was by registered mail on Nov. 11, 2021 addressed to his office at the Batasan Complex, Quezon City. Additional follow-ups via text message was also futile.
In those three letters, I suggested establishing a Benguet Students’ and Youth Assistance Center with an electronic research library at the Wangal Sports Complex.
The center is envisioned to cater to the needs of students enrolled in the different colleges and universities in Baguio and Benguet, to include out of school youth.
I also brought out the idea of setting up a Benguet Women’s Integrated Center, where women’s groups in Benguet can conduct their activities in the pursuit of their common goals. The center can also be a refuge for abused women and children.
With his resounding victory in the recent polls, we expect our congressman-elect to give importance to correspondence from his constituents which a true representative is bound to do. — AGA K. BOLISLIS, La Trinidad, Benguet
