Reactions on the President’s last SONA

In his final, three-hour State of the Nation Address, President Rodrigo Duterte dealt on the administration’s accomplishments but did not dwell on the outcome of his earlier promises to make life more comfortable in our country.
The true SONA should have been presented.
Filipinos want to know what happened to his promises to defend the country against territorial aggression, end illegal drugs trade, stop corruption, halt social injustice, end insurgency, end political dynasties and “turncoatism,” and revive the economy.
The President has 11 months left to serve and address the felt concerns of Filipinos in creating more jobs or livelihood, enhancing the economy, restoring environmental integrity, promoting sustainable food production sufficiency and effective health care, improving the educational system, preventing incursion into our territory and having peace, fighting corruption and illegal drugs, and securing public trust in the government.
At the end of his term, we hope the President will not be remembered for hardships but for better life in our country. — PERCIVAL B. ALIPIT, Baguio City
