Benguet COVID-19 response must be presented to the public

As a resident of Benguet, I am deeply disturbed by the dearth of information on vital issues confronting the province.
For instance, what is the current status of our Covid-19 response? How many of our people have been vaccinated so far? Are we encountering problems in our vaccination program? What is the overall economic performance of the various sectors in the province during the first quarter of the year compared to last year? What is our current rate of employment and unemployment? What is the state of our farming, mining, and small and medium industries at this time?
What are the measures or interventions undertaken by the province to mitigate the adverse impact of the pandemic to the lives of our people? We have the right to know! Can’t our officials provide us with updates?
I could have easily communicated these concerns to the officials at the Capitol, but more often than not, their landlines are not working. Worse, their staff does not even know how to take a call from an ordinary citizen like me.
I am sure officials in the provincial government can do better. They just have to wake up from their stupor because we badly need officials who can inspire us during these trying times. — AGA K. BOLISLIS, La Trinidad, Benguet.
