LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – This town awarded the winners of the Search for the 2019 Cleanest and Greenest barangay and public elementary schools, which was delayed for a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mayor Romeo Salda together with Vice Mayor Roderick Awingan and Municipal Health Office Head Antonette Agpas, awarded the winners during the flag raising ceremony of the municipal government on March 22.
For the school category, Don Pulas Elementary School (ES) was the back-to-back champion with P30,000 prize.
Bineng Elementary School bagged the second prize of P25,000;  Longlong ES was third while Lower Wangal ES was  fourth  with cash prizes of  P20,000 and P15,000, respectively.
For the barangay category, the top winner was Barangay Lubas, which was the hall-of-fame awardee for winning from 2017, 2018, and 2019 with  P55,000.
At second place is Barangay Alapang and third place is Barangay Ambiong with prizes of P40,000 and  P30,000, respectively.  Fourth place winner is Barangay Bahong with P25,000 prize  and fifth is Barangay Alno with P20,000.
Also recognized were special awardees with P5,000 each. Barangay Ambiong was adjudged  the  most innovative barangay while Barangay Balili was the best in Aksyon Barangay Kontra Zika, Dengue, and Chikungunya. La Trinidad Central School got the best canteen award. 
Prizes would be used for the Solid Waste Management Program of the respective schools and barangays.
