Local teams Wushu Beyond and Tribu Banwar topped this year’s Baguio Day Wushu Invitational Championship held on Sept. 23 to 25. 

Wushu Beyond ruled the taolu event with a medal tally of nine gold, one silver, and one bronze medals, followed by Accent Wushu with eight gold, 12 silver, and six bronze medals; and Baguio Tai Chi Action Group in third place with 6-6-6 medal haul.

Tribu Banwar made it to the top of the sanda event with 9-4-2 medals followed by Team Lakay Central Gym with 7-4-1 medals and Baguio City National High School with 2-5-11 medals.

Gold medalists for Tribu Banwar in the sanda are Gueneller Bacacao, Juliva Baculi, Yaman Jah Facunla, Benson Acas, Jian Francisco, Calco Velic, Alexander Tagure Jr., and Kim Lawrence Estacio.

Lakay Central Gym gold medalists in the sanda are Grace Carluen, Ralph Cervantes, Claudine Veloso, Zephaniea Ngaya, Gina Araos, Jean Claude Saclag, and Jeremy Pacatiw.

BCNHS gold medalists are Krishna Malecdan and Nathaniel Pundo.

Other gold medalists are Arvinson Balanoy of Lakay Training Center, John Ray Codli of Ampucao National High School, Kurt Gant Chap-as of Irisan NHS, John Mark Kingad of Sayamyouth gym, Gal Adir Pay-oc, and Charl Wyne Bannagao of Pinget NHS Kafagway, El Jon Ralph Aclinen of Body Goals Gym, Guen Foldo of Pinget NHS, Christopher Manipon and Jerome Balualua of the University of Baguio, and Ezra Saclag of University of the Cordilleras. 

In the taolu event, Wushu Beyond’s gold haul is led by Sherwin John Bromajon and Aliyah Jay Romero, Leslyn Romero, garnering two gold medals each; and Raven Joshua Fernandez, Aubrey Alcaraz, and James Redrick Dela Cruz gaining one gold medal each. 

Accent Wushu’s winners are Carla Stephanie Tilap and Hans Lubguban with two gold medals each; and Andrei Roy Albert, Julius Bahay, Isaac Ugay, and Quentin Demarco Corpuz with one gold medal each.

Baguio Tai Chi Action Group’s gold medal strikers are Sergio Baguitan with two gold medals apiece while Albina Backong, Willie Saber, Mercylin Alexander, and Sheran Dacanay won one gold each.
