The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in the Cordillera has registered a total of 6,068 households for replacement of those exited and ineligible households under set 11B of calendar year 2022 as of March 18.
A household exits the program when the youngest monitored child in the family reaches the age of 18 and/or through the Grievance Redress System if the beneficiaries are reported and validated on third offense for misdemeanor acts like cash cards pawning, using the cards for loan collateral, drug abuse, alcoholism, and gambling.
“The new slots of 4Ps household beneficiaries are intended only to replace those exited and ineligible households and not an expansion of the program beneficiaries. We also ensured the new households are those eligible poor households based on the Listahanan 2 database,” Department of Social Welfare and Development Regional Director Arnel B. Garcia said.
To be included in the program, the household beneficiary must be enumerated and identified as poor in the Listahanan database and must fit with the program’s criteria. This includes those households with children aged zero to 18 years old or a pregnant member at the time of the assessment.
The household must also be able and willing to comply with the conditions of the program that include enrolment and attendance of children aged four to 18 years old in school, deworming of at least twice a year for children aged six to 14, pre- and post-natal check-ups for women, preventive checkups to children aged five and below, and attendance to monthly family development sessions.
The newly registered household beneficiaries are required to attend program orientation sessions to discuss and instill within their household the program provisions, strategies, concepts, and conditions.
The household replacement policy was passed through National Advisory Committee Resolution 43 that allows the continuous replacement of 4Ps households with eligible ones that are not yet covered by the program.
Enacted under Republic Act 11310 in April 2019, the 4Ps is the government’s major poverty alleviation program that invests in health, nutrition, and education of the poor eligible households, along with the psychosocial and psycho-educational component provided through the FDS towards improved and sustained well-being. – Marlo C.
