BONTOC, Mountain Province – A motorcycle accident claimed the life of a male here on April 3.
The victim was identified as Ambrosio Dumagos from Kilong, Sagada.
Based on the report, the Bontoc Emergency Operations Center (EOC) received a call from a concerned citizen informing them of an accident involving a motorcycle with a lone passenger at Dantay, Barangay Alab Proper, Bontoc.
Per initial assessment by the responders, the victim was found at the incident site with no pulse and was not breathing with blood oozing from his nose and mouth.
A post mortem conducted by Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Diga Kay Gomez, the cause of death was traumatic brain injury secondary to a motorcycle accident.
Upon verification of the victim’s identity, the Bontoc EOC coordinated with the Sagada municipal government to ferry the body to his residence.
At around 5:53 p.m. of the same day, the body was claimed by his brother and was ferried to his residence in Kilong, Sagada.
A cleansing ritual was conducted by the community elders led by former municipal Indigenous Peoples mandatory Representative George Luis Fakat at the Bontoc Municipal Capitol Ato. – Alpine L. Killa-Malwagay
