LAGAWE, Ifugao – The National Housing Authority, in partnership with the provincial government gave financial assistance under the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP) to families affected by typhoons Egay and Paeng at the Lagawe public plaza on Dec. 15.

A total of 99 families out of the 111 targeted beneficiaries from Banaue, Hingyon, Hungduan, and Tinoc received the cash assistance.

The remaining 12 were paid at the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.

Typhoon Paeng victims received P10,000 for a totally damaged house and P5,000 for partially damaged house, funded by the Office of the Civil Defense.

Families affected by Typhoon Egay also received P10,000 for either totally or partially damaged houses from the NHA.

NHA Community Support Services Officer John Patrick Domingo said EHAP aims to help low-income and marginalized house-structure owners affected by man-made or natural calamities to help them rebuild their homes. EHAP beneficiaries are families whose houses are damaged or affected by typhoon, fire, landslide or human-induced calamity. – Marcelo B. Lihgawon
