The Philippine Food Expo, touted as the only All-Filipino food and beverage show in the country, is back to showcase the best of locally-sourced fresh and processed produce on its 16th edition on April 12 to 14 at the World Trade Center in Metro Manila.

Organized by the Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization (Philfoodex) Inc., the three-day expo remains to be a flourishing meeting point for the business-to-business (B2B) marketplace as it gathers over 300 food and beverage (F&B) exhibitors consisting of the exporters, retailers, equipment and franchisors pavilions who actively step up to meet the growing demands and emerging trends in the agri-food sector.

Suppliers, manufacturers and buyers from the F&B industry that has assisted micro, small and large-scale food processors, exporters and allied industry players through sales generation, networking opportunities, and brand recognition will also participate in the exhibition.

Expected to be attended by over 20,000 local and foreign trade buyers, consumers and visitors, the gastronomic event also provides a comprehensive platform for networking, collaboration, as well as information exchange, market opportunities, and the latest in the food and beverage market trends.

It will formally open on April 12, with Senator Cynthia Villar, chairperson of Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food, serving as the special guest of honor and keynote speaker.

Aside from Villar, the ribbon cutting ceremonies will also be graced by Quezon Rep. Wilfrido Mark Enverga, chairperson of House Committee on Agriculture and Food; Agriculture Sec. Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual, Tourism Sec. Maria Esperanza Christina Garcia Frasco; Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. President Sergio Ortiz-Luis, Jr.; Philfoodex, Inc. President Ruben See; World Trade Center chairman and chief executive officer Pamela Pascual; UnionBank of the Philippines Institutional Segment Marketing head Dino Velasco; University of Santo Tomas Rector Very Rev. Fr. Richard Ang, O.P., PHD; William Tiu Lim; and other directors of Philfoodex, Inc.

The 16th Philippine Food Expo partnered with the Department of Agriculture to bring 15 regional participants and promote the nationwide Young Farmers Challenge and Kadiwa Center programs.

The DA’s annual Filipino Food Month is also set to coincide with the expo which will serve as its media launch platform, enforcing Secretary Laurel’s mandate of increased productivity and modernized agriculture.

An engaging series of technical and business sessions, fiery Culinary Challenge competitions, and entertaining cooking demonstrations and workshops from renowned chefs also await all visitors of the expo. – Press release
