Dancesports athletes from North Luzon will compete on Nov. 26 for the 1st Adivay Dancesports competition at the Benguet Capitol gymnasium.

Organized by the DanceSports Cordillera, Inc., the competition will be participated in by amateur but competitive dancers from the 13 Benguet municipalities and athletes from the rest of Cordillera and Regions 1 and 2.

It features couple categories: grade C, youth C, junior C, juvenile C, juvenile 1C, and juvenile 2C; solo categories: adult C, youth C, junior C, juvenile 1C, and juvenile 2C; and duo categories: adult, youth, junior, juvenile.

The age restrictions for synchronized duo will be based on the older partner for the qualifications on the respective categories during the event also backed by the provincial government of Benguet.

The organizers announced the costume and dress regulations for all compe-titors will be strictly enforced and shall be the responsibility of the competitors.

Juvenile and junior competitors shall be the responsibility of the couple’s pa-rents or guardians and coaches.

All juvenile and junior categories must also follow the prescribed Philippine Dancesport Federation   or World Dancesport Federation syllabus and routine and dress regulation.

The top winning teams will receive an Adivay trophy each and cash prizes with the overall champion receiving P5,000; first runner-up, P3,000; and second runner-up, P2,000.

All participating athletes and coaches will receive a certificate of participation and the winning athletes will receive a certificate of award for the top six and Adivay medals to the top three winners.

Hundreds of dan-cesports enthusiasts from all over the country participated in the 3rd Cordillera Dance Festival on Oct. 14 at the Benguet Sports Complex in Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet.
