Plans for the P502 million worth infrastructure projects at the Athletic Bowl complex are being finalized.
City Sports Coordinator Gaudencio Gonzales said the construction of the indoor sports and youth convergence center and the four-story parking with a VIP lounge near the swimming pool area will commence this year.
Gonzales said concerned offices led by the Department of Public Works and Highways are currently reconciling the designs for the projects which are up for bidding next month.
Earlier, City Administrator Bonifacio dela Peña said the budget for the indoor sports facility was cut from P434M to P392M due to some improvements on design.
He said the plans for the sports facility will not be affected despite the reduced cost.
The proposed facilities were supposed to be constructed April of last year but were delayed due to the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the expansion of the big grandstand that will increase the seating capacity up to 500 is ongoing.
The facility will include shower rooms, athletes’ lounge, workout station, and offices.
