LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A total of 200 new police officers took their oath as members of the Philippine National Police in a ceremony, July 1.
The new officers, 170 are male and 30 are female, are part of the regular recruitment program quota for 2020 of the Police Regional Office Cordillera.
PRO-Cor Director B/Gen. R’Win Pagkalinawan, who administered the oath, urged the members to help in the anti-criminality campaign of the organization.
“You must be a good example and not be the scalawags who are being hunted down. Endeavor to do the right thing under every circumstance because only in this way that you will be able to provide the level of service the community deserves and to really begin the work of making a difference in the lives of others” Pagkalinawan said.
He also told the new policemen to work together to be the officers that the public demands and expects them to be.
The new policemen were also handed their new ATM cards where their salaries will be deposited. They will receive a basic monthly salary of P29,668 aside from allowances and other non-cash benefits.
They will be turned over to the Cordillera Administrative Region Training School at Teachers’ Camp in Baguio City where they will undergo the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course for six months.
It would be followed by another six months of field training program, which will qualify them for regular employment status.
The new police officers will fill up slots vacated due to death, dismissal, or retirement of personnel assigned in the region. – PNA
