Benguet caretaker Rep. Eric Yap facilitated the payout for the first batch of this year’s beneficiaries in seven municipalities.

Buguias had the most beneficiaries with 500, Kabayan with 465, Mankayan with 430, Bokod with 360, Atok and Tublay with 290 each, and Bakun with 255.

Yap said there are 35 beneficiaries allotted per barangay to make sure there is an equal distribution of the financial aid for displaced workers.

Last year, 25,000 beneficiaries received cash assistance worth P125 million funded through the initiative of Yap with the budget coming from the Bayanihan Act 2.

Yap said he would pursue bigger allocation for Tupad beneficiaries in the province.

The beneficiaries received P5,250 each for the 10-day cash-for-work.
